Albert Davalos, PhD, currently holds appointments at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, staff scientist at the Buck institute for Research on Aging in Novato and adjunct faculty at California State University, East Bay. He maintains active collaborations with clinicians at UCSF to investigate the emergence of aging pathologies in HIV positive individuals, and with faculty at the Buck Institute to uncover how aging, inflammation and cellular senescence leads to neurodegenerative disorders (e.g. Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease) and cancer initiation/development. He serves as editor in the Journal Aging and is a long standing member of the Association for Cancer Research. He received his B.S. from California State University, East Bay and obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Texas.
