Angelina Namiba is originally from Kenya. She was diagnosed HIV positive in 1993. She is a single mum of a 17 year old daughter born 5 years after her diagnosis.
Angelina Namiba currently works as an Associate of the Salamander Trust. She is also community representative on various boards, including VH Positive Action for Children Fund, BHIVA Primary Care Working Group, National Study of HIV in Pregnancy and Childhood, UK Community Advisory Board and WHO Clinical Guidelines Development Group. She is also a patron of the National HIV Nurses Association.
Her interests include the sexual health and reproductive rights of women living with HIV, enabling effective service provision for children and young people living with HIV, treatment advocacy particularly around enabling patient treatment literacy as well as global availability accessibility and affordability of treatment, and the local/national/international HIV policy.
