Chris Walker is Professor of Pediatrics at the Ohio State University in Columbus Ohio. He is also Director of the Center for Vaccines and Immunity at Nationwide Children’s Hospital Research Institute and where he holds the W.S. Cowan Chair in Pediatric Research.
Dr. Walker received his Ph.D. from McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada and undertook post-doctoral training on immunity to HIV with Dr. Jay Levy at the University of California, San Francisco. He became active in HCV research upon joining Chiron Corporation in 1989 and continued this work after moving to the Nationwide Children's Research Institute in 1998.
Dr. Walker’s primary research interest is adaptive immunity to HCV, with an emphasis on the T lymphocyte response to the virus in infections that resolve or persist.
