It is our pleasure to announce a new project: the 1st International Workshop on Microbiome in HIV Pathogenesis, Prevention and Treatment, scheduled to be held on 7 - 8 April 2015 in Bethesda MD, USA.

The aim of the workshop is to bring together different expertise, including key people from outside the HIV field with an interest in Microbiome research.
This workshop will consist of a 2 day program, with in each session, a general broad overview lecture and a lecture focusing on the interplay between microbiome and HIV; furthermore there will be oral abstract presentations, poster presentations, round table discussions and ample time for questions and answers.
Abstract presentations will give (young) investigators the opportunity to presents their latest data.
The program will be structured based on 5-6 themes:
Transmission and Prevention
Microbicides & Vaccines
Treatment & Cure
Technologies & Methodologies
The outcomes of the workshop program may give guidance to future research programs.
