Dr. Lucas is an associate professor of medicine in the division of infectious diseases at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He completed his M.D. at Duke University and a PhD in clinical investigation at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He completed his internal medicine residency and infectious diseases fellowship at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Lucas has devoted his clinical and research career to HIV. His research interests include integrated care for HIV-infected drug users, adherence and improving treatment outcomes in disenfranchised HIV populations, and HIV-associated kidney disease. Dr. Lucas has been PI on multiple NIH grants, and is a member of the HIV Prevention Trials Network (HPTN) and the NIDA Clinical Trial Network (CTN).
