1st International Workshop on HIV Pediatrics

Home

Dear Colleagues,

Thanks to its immense appeal and an impressive turnout, the 1st International Workshop on HIV Pediatrics proved its value to researchers and clinicians alike! Held in the Cape Sun Southern Sun Hotel in the heart of Cape Town, 257 delegates from 5 continents were in attendance (please refer to the participant list to the right of your screen).

The 1st International Workshop on HIV Pediatrics and provided a unique and most needed platform for international interchange on this important topic. The workshop was abstract-driven and brought together experts from different disciplines who are involved in daily clinical care for infants and children. This meeting offered an interactive setting where the latest developments in the field were presented and more importantly, discussed, reviewed and evaluated in order to reach better treatment methods and strategies for infants and children in developed and developing countries. To ensure the quality of the presentations, all abstracts were reviewed by the Organising and Scientific Committees.

We would like to express our appreciation to everyone who took the time to fill in the evaluation form at the end of the conference. Thanks to your feedback and suggestions, we hope to build upon last year's success.

Of course, the organization of this workshop could not have been possible without the valuable support of our Platinum Sponsor, the NIH!

We hope to see you again at the 2nd International Workshop on HIV Pediatrics in Vienna, Austria in 2010 and encourage you to submit abstracts on your research for another successful scientific program.

We hope to see you next year!

On behalf of the Organizing Committee,
Lynne Mofenson MD, CHAIR 2009
