Dear Colleagues,
Thanks to a great turnout, the 4th International Workshop on HIV Transmission was a success! Held in the Westin Grand Hotel, next door to the IAS venue, in the heart of Cape Town, 83 delegates from 22 different countries were in attendance (please refer to the participant list to the right of your screen).
To ensure an intimate, interactive abstract-driven meeting, the scientific program included invited lectures, abstract presentations, roundtable discussions, poster sessions and Q&A. The quality of the presentations was maintained by the Organizing and Scientific Committees' combined effort to review all submitted abstracts.
We would like to express our appreciation to everyone who took the time to fill in the evaluation form at the end of the conference. Thanks to your feedback and suggestions, we hope to build upon last year's success.
Of course, the organization of this workshop could not have been possible without the valuable support of our sponsors. Special thanks goes out to the NIH, Gilead and the International Partnership for Microbicides! We would also like to thank the IAS for its wonderful endorsement of the HIV Transmission Workshop.
We hope to see you again at the 5th International Workshop on HIV Transmission - Priniciples of Intervention- and encourage you to submit abstracts on your research for another successful scientific program.
The Organizing Committee
