J. Walson: HIV and helminth treatment in HIV infection

Judd L. Walson, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Global Health, Medicine, and Pediatrics at the University of Washington in Seattle, USA and a Visiting Scientist at the Centre for Clinical Research at the Kenya Medical Research Institute in Nairobi, Kenya. He received his medical degree and Master’s Degree in Public Health from Tufts University School of Medicine
Judd L. Walson, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Global Health, Medicine, and Pediatrics at the University of Washington in Seattle, USA and a Visiting Scientist at the Centre for Clinical Research at the Kenya Medical Research Institute in Nairobi, Kenya.  He received his medical degree and Master’s Degree in Public Health from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed post-graduate training in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Duke University Medical Center.  Following his residency training, he completed a fellowship in Infectious Disease at the University of Washington.  Since joining the University of Washington, he has focused his research on common endemic co-infections and HIV in Africa.  He has conducted several large clinical trials of anti-helminth therapy to delay HIV disease progression and is currently also conducting trials of malaria and diarrheal disease prevention to delay HIV progression.  Dr. Walson is the Medical Director of the Adolescent HIV Clinic at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and spends a significant time at clinical trial sites in Kenya.  He also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Current Therapeutic Research and an Associate Editor for PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases.
