M.L. Vachon: Aging Liver in HIV
Marie-Louise Vachon, M.D. received her Doctorate of Medicine from Sherbrooke University in Canada in 2002. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine and her fellowship in Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at Laval University in Quebec, Canada.
She joined Mount Sinai Medical Center in 2008 for a 3-year postgraduate position studying viral hepatitis including hepatitis B, hepatitis C and their co-infections with HIV. She is pursuing a master in Sciences in Clinical Research at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She is interested in the phenomenon of rapid hepatic fibrosis in patients co-infected with HCV and HIV as well as the HIV aging liver. Her research has also focused on fibroscan grading of hepatic fibrosis in patients with non cirrhotic portal hypertension in HIV patients with exposure to ART therapy.
