Pre-workshop educational course for practicing clinicians


BASICS IN MANAGEMENT OF LIVER DISEASE

We are delighted to introduce this year a new feature, the pre-workshop educational course for practicing clinicians. This very clinically oriented course will provide a comprehensive update of current topics fundamental to the optimal care of co-infected patients. It will be held Monday morning preceding the workshop opening.

08:30 - 9:00 How to evaluate elevated liver enzymes? (Development of practical algorithms for liver disease workup as well as introduction to aldifferential diagnosis) (K. Sherman)
09:00 - 9:30 How to assess liver fibrosis stage? (including role and value of liver biopsy and non.-invasive markers  for fibrosis assessment) (V. Soriano)
09:30 - 10:00 Management of end-stage liver disease (including aszites, varices and portal hypertension management along the current guidelines in place)   (M. Puoti)

Clinical cases hepatitis B +/- HIV coinfection (M. Nelson)

11:15 - 12:00 Clinical cases hepatitis C +/- HIV coinfection (J. Rockstroh)
