He received a BS in Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin and a PhD in Pharmaco-kinetics/Pharmacodynamics from the University of Pittsburgh. Rick Bertz is currently a Group Director for Virology and Neurosciences in Clinical Pharmacology at Bristol-Myers Squibb. He received a BS in Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin and a PhD in Pharmaco-kinetics/Pharmacodynamics from the University of Pittsburgh. During his 14 year career in pharmaceutical industry, Rick has been involved in all phases of clinical drug development, with a focus on the analysis and interpretation of Clinical Pharmacology data. His resume includes extensive clinical development and drug interaction work in association with several HIV-protease inhibitors. Rick has given numerous presentations relating to the Clinical Pharmacology of Drugs for HIV/AIDS at CROI, ICAAC, IAC, and American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (ASCPT), Drug Information Association (DIA) as well as at the HIV Clinical Pharmacology Workshop. He has co-authored over 100 abstracts and publications in the area of Clinical Pharmacology, most in the field of HIV/AIDS. Rick is a co-inventor on several patents. He is a long standing member of the HIV Clinical Pharmacology Workshop Scientific Committee as well as a member of the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (ASCPT) and the American Association for Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS).
