R. Camacho: Genetic barriers: wise use of new drugs


Ricardo Camacho graduated in Medicine in Lisbon Medical School, Universidade de Lisboa. With a specialization in Transfusion Medicine, and several years of clinical practice, he becomes in 1994 the head of Virology Laboratory in Hospital Egas Moniz, in Lisbon, later one of the Portuguese AIDS reference laboratories.

Ricardo Camacho graduated in Medicine in Lisbon Medical School, Universidade de Lisboa.  With a specialization in Transfusion Medicine, and several years of clinical practice,  he becomes in 1994 the head of Virology Laboratory in Hospital Egas Moniz, in Lisbon, later one of the Portuguese AIDS reference laboratories.  With a research affiliation to the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, his main fields of interest are on HIV-1 resistance in non-B subtypes and HIV-2 resistance.  He is the Portuguese National Coordinator for the EU funded projects SPREAD, EuroHIVResistance, CASCADE and CHAIN.
