Marcelo Simão Ferreira holds the position of Professor of Infectious Diseases at the Federal University of Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brasil and President of the Brazilian Society of Infectious Diseases (Sociedade Brasileira de Infectologia). Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Uberlândia (1978), specialization in Infectious Diseases at the University of São Paulo (1981) and specialization in Gastroenterology at the University of São Paulo (1982). Currently he is Chief of the Infectious Diseases Service at the Federal University of Uberlândia. Has experience in the area of medicine, with an emphasis in Clinical Medicine. Dr. Marcelo Ferreira Simon has over 80 published papers and his areas of expertise and research include: Viral Hepatitis, Systemic Mycoses and Tropical Diseases.
