Patrick Ingiliz is a specialist for Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. He is currently working as a consultant at the Center for Infectiology in Berlin. His main fields of interest are HIV infection and viral hepatitis coinfection. His clinical research projects are focused on acute hepatitis C infection, liver fibrosis progression and steatohepatitis in HIV infection. He is actively involved in numerous trials on directly acting agents against hepatitis C in mono- and in coinfected subjects. During his training, he worked in an HIV/AIDS programme in subsaharan Africa which focused on the implementation of antiretroviral therapy in Malawi. He furthermore completed a research fellowship at the Pitié-Salpêtrière liver unit in Paris. Dr Ingiliz plays an active role in several national and international research collaborations.
