Dr Izukanji Sikazwe BScHB, MBChB is CIDRZ Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Dr Sikazwe graduated with an MBChB degree from the University of Zambia -School of Medicine and completed her internship at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka. She then completed Adult Internal Medicine training at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore and Infectious Disease training at the University of Maryland, USA. She is currently studying for a Masters of Public Health. Dr Sikazwe has been working in HIV care, treatment and support programmes since 2006 and has provided technical assistance to the Zambian National ARV Programme as well as numerous Anti-retroviral treatment facilities across Zambia. She continues to support the Zambian Ministry of Health through active membership on the PMTCT, Adult and Paediatric ARV Treatment Technical Working Groups. She is keen to improve the training and skills of medical providers and has been involved in the development of the post-graduate curricula in HIV and Infectious Disease as well as training of Masters-level students at the UNZA School of Medicine. Dr Sikazwe continues to practice clinical medicine at the Adult Infectious Diseases Centre of Excellence at University Teaching Hospital.
