Dr Abhilash C Sathyamoorthi completed his bachelor’s degree in medicine in 2004 with Kasturba Medical College, India. He began his career in Botswana in 2007 at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital where he worked for one and a half years before joining Baylor children’s clinic in 2008. During his time at Baylor clinic he has been involved in a diverse range of clinical work including clinical research, teaching and mentoring of health care workers. He has published abstracts and obtained a Masters in clinical research administration in 2013 with the University of Liverpool, England. He is currently studying a postgraduate diploma in Family Medicine with Medvarsity online in association with the Royal College of General Practitioners UK. He has been with Botswana HIV Clinician’s society for the past two years and is also one of the recipients of the exchange scholarship sponsored by Bristol Myers Squibb in collaboration with the British HIV Association in 2013. He works at Baylor clinic as a senior medical officer and his areas of interest include family practice, HIV medicine and mental health.
