Deborah Money is a Professor at the University of British Columbia in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, located at the BC Women’s Hospital, Vancouver, BC and is a subspecialist in Reproductive Infectious Diseases. Dr. Money is the Executive Director of the Women’s Health Research Institute, Provincial Health Services Authority.
Dr. Money was trained with a BSc in Microbiology, and an MD at UBC followed by her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, also at UBC, and Fellowship training in Infectious Diseases at the University of Washington.
She has developed a clinical and research program in Reproductive Infectious Diseases with research focused on HIV and other viral infections in pregnancy, HPV and the HPV vaccine in the prevention of cervical cancer and most recently in genome based studies of the vaginal microbiome. She a past- President of the Infectious Diseases Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology (IDSOG) [a US based organization].
