Pep Coll, MD, is the Clinical Cohorts Coordinator of the HIVACAT Programme (Project for the development of HIV vaccines) at the irsiCaixa AIDS Research Institute, and physician at the HIV Unit, Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol, Badalona. He collaborates in the recruitment and follow up of several cohorts (HIV acute infections, controllers, rapid progressors, HESN), and he conducts a cohort study of HIV-uninfected men who have sex with men (MSM), in collaboration with a community based organization (BCN Checkpoint). Another of his fields is the Human Papillomavirus, collaborating in the programme for the prevention of anal cancer in HIV-infected patients.
Dr. Coll is currently focused on strategies for prevention of HIV and other STI (including Hepatitis C) among at-risk MSM in Barcelona. He is a coordinator of the working group set up by the Public Health Department of Catalonia for the implementation of PrEP.
