Professor Dr. Punnee Pitisuttithum currently holds the position of Deputy Dean for Translational Medicine and Innovation and also the director of the Vaccine Trial Centre, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. She has been working in the area of Tropical Medicine for 30 years especially on vaccine trials against infectious diseases, for example, HIV, Influenza, Shigella, HPV and Dengue. She has authored over 100 scientific publications. She has served as member of Clinical Trial Subcommittee, IAVI. She had previously served as member of Task Force on Research & Development: GAVI, member of Vaccine Advisory Committee, Initiative for Vaccine Research,WHO, a member on AIDS Vaccine Advisory Committee, IVR, WHO, and as co-chair in AIDS Vaccine 2011 conference.
Professor Punnee has received the award ofMost Outstanding Researcher in Medical Science 2015 from National Research Council of Thailand, and she has also won the Mahidol University Award for Outstanding Research in 2013.
Professor Punnee Pitisuttithum has completed her medical degrees from Lady Hardinges Medical College, Delhi, University in N-Delhi. She received a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from Bangkok School of Tropical Medicine, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University. She also has received training in Internal Medicine from Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University.
