Shinichi Oka received his MD degree at Tokushima University in 1982 and obtained his PhD in Medical Science at Tokyo University in 1988. He published over 300 peer reviewed papers including Nature, New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, Clinical Infectious Diseases, Journal of Infectious Diseases and AIDS. He is conducting collaborative researches with some Asian countries such as Vietnam and Mongolia. His current position is Director of AIDS Clinical Center, National Center for Global Health and Medicine, Tokyo, Japan and Vice-director of the Japanese Society for AIDS Research. He chairs the 29th Annual Conference of the Japanese Society for AIDS Research to be held at Tokyo in 2015.
