Tanaka Chirombo

Chirombo, Tanaka 2020Tanaka Chirombo, 22 years old based in Mzuzu is a public health student at University of Livingstonia (Laws campus), board member representing eastern and southern Africa on the Global Network of Young People Living with HIV(Y+) and an HIV cure academy alumni who is passionate about preventative medicine or public health and advocates for issues to do with young people living with HIV and also looks at the field of sexual and reproductive health as it also contributes some co-infections.
He is a member of the world's largest association of HIV professionals, the International AIDS Society, championed issues of SRHR and demographic dividend through health policy+ and ministry of health. Tanaka has been doing community awareness on current HIV cure research updates, peer supporter, and a mentor at Mzuzu central Hospital under the Pediatric AIDS Treatment for Africa(PATA). He has participated in a creative initiative to combat AIDS called Make ART stop AIDS at ART and Global Health. Tanaka was the SRHR programs coordinator for youth hub under SRHR Africa Trust (SAT) in Malawi and he was a youth plenary speaker at the 2018 International Conference on Family Planning in Kigali, Rwanda. Additionally, Tanaka was a youth editor for the youth impact magazine PSI 2018 and lastly represented Malawi at the SADC peoples summit in a debate competition in 2018.
