Yeon-Sook, Kim received her MD summa cum laude at Chungnam National University School of Medicine in 1996. She finished the Residency training and fellowship course in Samsung Medical Center in Seoul, South Korea from 1996 to 2002. Her current position is associate professor in the division of Infectious Diseases at the Chugnam National University Hospital in Daejeon, South Korea and chief of the department of the infection control at the same hospital.
She got her PhD with an article, “Molecular characterization of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus strains in Korea. “ Her current interest is the HIV and AIDS and emerging infectious pathogens, especially virus including MERS-CoV. She was involved to take care of severe patients infected with MERS-CoV during the MERS outbreak in South Korea.
